I help families cross the bridge to a confident retirement; helping them determine how much they can afford to spend, how long their money will last, and creating a long-term income plan for their retirement.
My areas of expertise include helping families manage the skyrocketing cost of a college education, develop a retirement income plan for retirement, and minimize taxes on IRAs and other assets. Approximately 70% of my clients are households in which women are the primary financial decision maker. In addition, I work with many “solopreneurs” and self-employed individuals.
My educational background includes a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Minnesota. I am also a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ and a member of *Ed Slott’s Master Elite IRA Advisor Group™, a private study group of financial advisors with extensive IRA experience. Through this affiliation I receive on-going, specialized training and support in IRAs and retirement plan distribution strategies.
I’m one of Focus Financial’s most senior advisors and have been with the firm since May of 1995. I became a Financial Advisor in 1992 and received the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation in 2002.
I serve on the board of directors for Can Do Canines, a local organization that provides assistance dogs for people with disabilities. I am also a strong financial supporter of Feed My Starving Children, a faith-based non-profit that provides life-saving meals to children around the world. I also provide free college planning workshops and information for many of our local high schools
I grew up in a military family, but have always called Minnesota home. I now live in the Lino Lakes area with my beautiful wife and two daughters. My family and I are passionate about our pets, which include a lovable Lab named Leo, a rescue cat named Logee, and “lots of fish.”
