For over 25 years, Maria has worked in the financial services industry as both a financial advisor and an executive overseeing a large group of advisors. In 2011 she joined Focus Financial as a financial advisor. Maria is an author and lecturer. She has written articles for local and national publications; has keynoted business and professional conferences; and presents financial workshops both in English and Spanish.
Maria graduated Cum Laude from Wayne State University, Michigan with both a BA and a BS in Education. Her graduate work in international law and finance began at a combined program with the University of Michigan and Wayne State University. Continued her post-graduate work in Business and Management at University of MN Carlson School of Management and Financial Planning at the College for Financial Planning, Denver, CO
Her efforts and accomplishments have been recognized over the years: Who’s Who in Women Business Owners; Woman Entrepreneur of the Year; Who’s Who in American Politics; National Award for Campaign Manager of the Year; VIP Award for Volunteer of the Year; Twin West Chamber Woman Entrepreneur of the Year and several others.
Her community involvement extends to the national scene. She serves on several boards and commissions at the local, state and national levels. Her experience includes the Peace Corps National Advisory Board; Presidential Conference in Aging; Boys and Girls Clubs; MN Displaced Homemaker and Child Development Councils; MN Preventive Care Research Institute and MN Council for Adult Education and Compatible Technology International among others.
Maria was born in Argentina, South America and immigrated to the United States with her parents as a youngster. She speaks and understands Spanish, French and Arabic. Maria is the proud mother of two successful entrepreneur sons and enjoys gourmet cooking, playing bridge and reading mystery novels.
