Born and raised in Waterloo, Iowa.  Graduated from the Univ. of N. Iowa with a BA in Science in 1969.  Officer in United States Air Force from 1969 to 1973.  Held numerous retail management positions from 1973 to 1982.   Received MBA from University of St. Thomas in 1979.  Financial planner for large national retail company from 1982 to 1986.  Financial services professional with Prudential Insurance and Financial Services from 1986 to 2001. 
 
Started own independent financial advisory business in 2001 after affiliating with Focus Financial.  Primary focus is retirement and estate planning, risk management, and asset management for families and individuals approaching or currently in retirement.  Also enjoy  working with young families and small businesses.  Active member and past president of local Lions Club and long term resident of Lindstrom, MN. 
 
From a business perspective, my clients are my most valuable business asset.  This quote from a classmate at my 40th high school re-union explains why I am in this business.  "My husband decided to retire about six years ago.  Unfortunately he flunked retirement and we are now back working with no idea when we can actually retire."

Products and services are provided and utilized based on individual needs, goals, and personal situation.  My strengths lie in the areas of retirement planning, estate planning, risk management, and asset management.  I am fully regsitered in Minnesota for mutual funds, variable life insurance and annuities, stocks, bonds, fixed insurance products, direct participation programs and limited partnerships.  I am an Investment Advisor representative through my affiliation with Focus Financial Network, Inc.  I am also registered in Florida, Texas, and Wisconsin. 
 
A primary strength lies in the area of asset management and income distribution planning in retirement.   Planning focus and direction changes following retirement as clients are now concerned with generating an income stream, minimizing risk, and developing a plan designed to integrate all of their income sources while assuring that they maintain their standard of living over their retirement years.  This type of planning takes an entirely different set of skills and planning strategies when compared to pre-retirement goals of asset growth. 
 
Over the past twenty years I have developed the skills, professional affiliations, and background to meet these needs in a manner that is reasonable, measurable, and flexible so as to avoid the pitfalls often encountered during retirement.  I offer individualized financial planning services based on individual needs and at a reasonable cost. 
 
A majority of my new clients are referrals and I have always worked for the best interest of my clients.  My business beliefs include:  If you make a mistake, admit it and correct it;  treat your clients as you would family or friends;  concern yourself with your clients pocketbook, not your own;  if you say you're going to do something, do it.
