I began my practice with the mission of helping people with their finances, so they can focus on more important facets of their life. Money doesn’t have to be the difficult issue we make it. I enjoy helping with all aspects of clients’ finances, having seen and experienced the financial world from many angles.
My primary effort is usually directed toward money management, where I embrace the fee-based, fiduciary concept. I believe this is best for all parties. I keep my fees below market rates while attempting (successfully thus far) to outperform expected returns, usually with less risk.
But money management means nothing without comprehensive integration into people’s lives. Understanding their goals and quirks makes the process fun. I help with retirement planning and income distribution, estate planning and insurance protection. People often find it refreshing to visit with someone who is competent, passionate, and honest and who doesn’t push insurance or other products that just don’t feel right. As a fiduciary to my clients, I only make recommendations that are well thought out and always in the client’s best interest.
As a result of my direction, my practice is full and turnover has been negligible. I have committed to accepting 5 new clients per year in anticipation of inevitable attrition over the years as we grow old together. I am always happy to offer my thoughts on off-beat financial ideas, or to meet with people who aren’t likely to become clients long-term, as it keeps me fresh and helps those who need it most.
