Scott began his financial planning career in September 1983 with I.D.S., later American Express Financial Advisors. Scott furthered his formal industry education through the College for Financial Planning in Denver, Colorado and achieved his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, CFP® designation in July 1987. The CFP designation identifies a group of financial planners who have met the educational, experience and ethical standards established by the International Board of Standards and Practices for Certified Financial Planners, Inc. (IBCFP). In addition, Scott is a member of the Financial Planner Referral and Advisory Committee for the Minnesota Senior Federation.
In April 1995, Scott joined Focus Financial, an independent financial planning and investment advisory firm, where he continues as a registered representative offering securities through Royal Alliance, Inc., member FINRA/SIPC.
Scott has successfully completed the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD) Examinations 6, 22, 63 and 65 and maintains a State of Minnesota Insurance License.
